Social Engagement Coordinator – Contractor Position (Part Time) - Norwich
We are looking for a motivated and confident individual to work with us on a contractor basis in a community focused role that helps raise awareness of the support we offer across Norfolk. This opportunity suits someone who enjoys building relationships and speaking with a wide range of organisations.
About the Role
The majority of this work will be carried out remotely. Contact with partners, workplaces and surgeries will often begin by phone or email. You will also support the promotion of our free council funded weight management service, our falls prevention offer that includes one to one sessions in both private and locality settings, and our private group falls classes. As part of the role there will still be occasions where in person visits are needed.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace engagement
Reach out to local workplaces and speak with managers or wellbeing leads to promote our healthy lifestyle support. Share information, arrange follow up conversations, and build ongoing relationships that support regular referrals.
Primary care engagement
Connect with GP surgeries, practice managers and clinicians. Attend surgeries when agreed to drop off leaflets, speak with reception teams and keep materials visible. When invited, offer short introductions about our services during staff meetings. Build strong links with social prescribers and link workers so they fully understand our pathways, referral routes and the benefits of our programmes. Maintain regular communication so our service remains a trusted choice.
Community partnerships
Identify and approach other organisations that may refer to us. This may include community groups, housing providers, charities, libraries, sports providers, local authority teams and any organisation that supports adults who may benefit from weight management or falls prevention.
Information and materials
Prepare and distribute leaflets, posters and service guides. This may involve posting items, delivering them in person or sending digital copies. Keep an organised log of where information has been placed so updates and follow ups can be managed.
Event representation
Attend community events, wellbeing fairs, workplace health days, GP practice events and any other opportunity that helps increase awareness of our programmes. Gather feedback from partners and the public to help identify challenges and opportunities for improvement.
